Return From Tokyo

Back from Tokyo for a long time, but I've been lazy to update my blog due to the busy CNY season & temptation to one of the latest Taiwn Idol Drama - "Devil Beside You" casted by Rainie Yang & He Jun Xiang. Just managed to finish watching the whole drama last night, it is so sweet & touching. My siblings & I are so addicted to it that we went to buy its DVD. Okie enough of that show... If continue like this I probably will type the summary of the whole show.

I think most of you are more interested in the pictures that I took in Tokyo bah... Well, there u go...

Day 1 (27/01/06)

Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport at 9pm for our deparutre flight to Japan that take off at 11.15pm

I need to fill in the Japan Immigration Cards given by the tour guide for all my family members. And of coz, my darling came to send me off in the airport. So touched... :D (Wah.. I look so pale without make up)

Day 2 (28/01/06)

After 7 hours flight, all of us finally landed safely on "The Land of the Rising Sun". Reached Narita Airport at 6.55am (According to Japan Timing). But due to some minor problems, we waited for our tour guide for almost 1-1/2 hr before we got up on our coach. Most of us thought that our tour guide is going to abandon us over there & left us in lurch.... Luckily, she still came in the end. Inside the coach, she kept apologizing to all of us. Although she was late for so long, but throughout the whole trip we are still able to cover up all places in the itinerary.

We begin our journey to Hakone whereby we will have our lunch and enjoy a short 10 mins crusie around Lake Ashi while enjoying the Japan scenery.

Pictures taken outside the Airport & on our way to Hakone.

This is our first meal in Japan. *Drooling*

After our lunch, we took some pics outside the restaurants. All of us were excited to see so much snow on the ground & of coz the weather is very cold when we first arrived. But too bad, din managed to see any snowfall during my whole trip.

After abt 15 mins ride, we finally reached the first places of interest in Japan, Lake Ashi. See how my dad playing with the snow... He is trying to create a fake snow fall... haha... But is very fun! Then my baby sis is trying to make a snowball. Haha.. I like my family photo with grandpa inside it!
Image hosting by Photobucket

Mum bought a box of strawberry at those fruit stalls @ Lake Shi, but end up we din managed to eat coz all of us forget abt it & the nxt day, it turn soggy :x
Image hosting by Photobucket

We then visit the Owakudani Boiling Valley, where sulphourous fumes rise from crevices in the rocks. The smell is quite strong but after a while you will get use to it.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Even though all of us feel cold, but my siblings, me & grandpa are enjoying our ice-cream in this kind of cold weather. Oh ya.. they have wasabi ice-cream over there! And I love it!
Image hosting by Photobucket

According to our itinerary, we are supposed to proceed to Mt Fuji but due to the heavy snowfall the other day. The roads are blocked up by pile of snow so is closed to the public. Thus, the local tour guide brought us to Peace Park instead.

The scenery at the Peace Park is simply beautiful.

In the late afternoon, we then proceed to Oshino Hakkai Village to enjoy the beautiful scenery & its natural hot springs. In that village, there are eight springs, each of them reflects beautiful Mt. Fuji in different ways.

As Japan is the earliest Asia country to see the sun rise, thus by 3pm you could notice the sky is getting a bit dark and the sun is setting.

Finally, we wil then transfer to Lake Kawaguchi area for hotel check in. Reached Hotel Saiko at abt 7pm plus. Had a simple buffet dinner. After that we were given a chance to experience the hot spring in the hotel.

Our room in the hotel with tatami floor. The room is considered huge with 3 beds & 1 tatimi area. I like their toilet bowl! So warmth & there are even button to press to wash ur butt after every business.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Had some hot green tea, before the 3 of us went for a hot spring.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Alright, first time experience in the hot spring. First impression is embarassment. This is my first time to see so many naked woman walking around. In the hot spring, we are not allow to wear anything. You have to undress yourself entirely. But u will be given a small towel which is even not enough to cover all your important parts!!! Me & my siblings hesitated for quite a while before we really went inside the hot spring beacuse we felt so embarressed to undress ourselves in front of one another. Haha... But there is a lot of procedure to do before u can soak in the hot spring.

After you undress, you have to wash yourself clean again at the shower area. You were be given a small tool to sit and clean up yourself with the shower hose from head to toe. After that, you then slowly walked toward the hot spring and try putting one of your leg inside to test the temperature of the water. Standard temperature is about 40 degree celcius. Can imagined how long I took to finally soak my whole body inside that kind of hot water. A normal person can only soak for at most 15 mins because if too long, you will start to feel your heart beat very fast and can't breathe. After soaking, you will have to wash yourself up again.. but this time round is with cold water so as to close up your skin pores that have already absorbed the minerals of the hot spring.

After the hot spring, you will find your skin more smoother and can have a very very good sleep at night.

Day 3 (29/01/06)

Woke up at abt 6am and have a breakfast buffet in the hotel. Took some pics outside our hotel.

Upon reaching at Tokyo, we will proceed to one of the Ramen store for our lunch, follow by a visit to Hello Kitty Store.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Have you ever see a bouquet of flower with a Hello Kitty Face?

Image hosting by Photobucket

Taken on the street of Ginza. Notice we bought a lot of stuffs from the Hello Kitty Store.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Next, we then visit the famous Asakusa Kannon Temple, the oldest temple in Tokyo.
I went to "Qiu Qian" and this is what I got. Luckily, there is English explanation below if not I don't hthink I know what does this "Qian" meant. Anyway, it stated that I have "Excellent Good Fortune". Hmm.. Don't know how true is this, but I still tied my "Qian" up. I think is their custom, so I just follow. Hopefully it will come true lah :D

Image hosting by Photobucket

Oh ya.. there is a lot of vending machines on the street of Tokyo.. everywhere u go u can easily spot one. Their vending machines even provide hot soup & hot coffee in water bottle style.

Image hosting by Photobucket

After that, we then visit Tokyo Odaiba which offers an amazing selection of entertainment and Toyota car exihibition facilities. The most striking landmark in this area of Tokyo is Palette Towns massive ferries wheel, one largest in the world.

Japan is well-known for it cleanliness and also the display of their food.

Haha.. Notice there is typo error in the pic... So sorry... this is the outcome for typing too fast. The correct spelling is "Rainbow Bridge".

Image hosting by Photobucket

Found a neoprint shop in one of the Tokyo Shopping mall... So me & my sis decided to try it out!

Image hosting by Photobucket

Haha.. Not bad bah??

Image hosting by Photobucket

After our dinner & shopping, we then head back to the hotel at Shinagawa.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Late at night, the 3 of us secretly sneaked out of our hotel and went for a supper at the nearby 24 Hour Yoshinoya store. I think it tasted better than those in Singapore :x

Image hosting by Photobucket

On our way back, this is what we found. Vending machine for cigarettes. I wonder is it open for all ages?? Luckily, Singapore don't have this. If not, there will be a lot of teenage smokers around.

Day 4 (30/01/06)

Woke up early as usual. Will be having fun in
Tokyo Disneyland for the whole day.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Took a pic at the garden of the hotel after my breakfast.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Taken in the hotel lobby.
Image hosting by Photobucket

After a 15 mins bus ride, here we are at Tokyo Disneyland.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Crowds can be seen even before the opening hours. Everyone is queuing outside the entrance, hoping to be the first to bash in.
Image hosting by Photobucket

When the gates opened, everyone rushed in and trying to snatch any Disney Characters for a photo shoot. So u will notice a lot of strangers inside our pics :x (Hehe.. actually some of them is our friends lah)
Image hosting by Photobucket

One of the character in Toy Story.
Image hosting by Photobucket

The pop corn is very popular in the Disneyland because it comes in different flavours such as curry, chocolate, honey, caramel and salted. But we only managed to try honey & caramel. The latter one taste nicer! It cost abt 1200 Yen for a bucket of pop corn. Each top up is 400 Yen, provided u bought the Disney characters pop corn bucket.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Of coz, we did bought that bucket. See the yellow bucket that one of my sis put over her neck?? That is for pop corn and she ate non-stop throughout. And also they bought some mickey mouse hair accessories to blend into society in the Disneyland.
Image hosting by Photobucket

As for me... I bought myself a Mickey mouse cap.. which I think I will wear it even if I'm in Singapore. And I'm the videocam man throughout the whole Japan trip.. It is not easy to be one.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Inside the Disneyland, there is a lot of games... but the problem is you have to queue for abt an hour for each games.. so end up the 3 of us only played 3 games... and after that we gave up.. coz we really dun have the patience to queue for that long. In the end, we just walked around & took some pics & went shopping in the mall.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Every few hours, there will be a Disney Parade. A lot of Japanese who have come often will have their beautiful mat placed nicely on the floor so that they will be able to have a good view of the parade. As for the 3 of us, we just sit on the floor & watched the parade. Haha...
Image hosting by Photobucket

Oh ya.. and one thing I noticed. Most of the Japanese Kids will dress up like princesses and princes. Initially, I really wondered why their parents want to dress them up like that... But after that parade, I then realized the main purpose of dressing up in that way. All the kids will be called up to join in the parade and do those "hand signal" dance steps... So kawaii ne...
Image hosting by Photobucket

Have our lunch in one of their cafe in Disneyland. Hmm... can see a lot of Disney characters walking around & disturbing the customers which including me... One of characters took my cap away and play with it!!! But it is funny!
Image hosting by Photobucket

Nice Disney Castle.
Image hosting by Photobucket

It is a truck that sell pop corn & we are the delivery man!
Image hosting by Photobucket

This is the 2nd parade show we saw during the evening.
Image hosting by Photobucket

With that, end my day in Disneyland.
Image hosting by Photobucket

Our last dinner in Japan is steamboat with super long leg crab & kobe beef (cow that drank beer). Each crab cost abt S$200 and my dad ordered 2 crabs. Eat until too full that we feel like puking.
Image hosting by Photobucket

After our full dinner, we then proceed to Narita Hotel for a good rest.

I think it looks delicious...
Image hosting by Photobucket

Decided to take another neoprint. This time round with the 3 of us inside.
Image hosting by Photobucket

After our shopping, we then made our way to the Narita Airport for our return flight to our home with cherished souvenirs and unforgettable memories of a great time.
