Yesterday was Dave's 25th Birthday! But too bad I can't accompany him for this year again :( Well, initially thought of going Msia to look for him & have a dinner with him but then due to some "restriction", I can only call him up to wish him "Happy Birthday".
Fortunately, we already had a pre-birthday celebration for him on last wkend. So overall, he still enjoyed himself despite it's not his actual day. And I think this is the first time I have ever planned such an "unique" surprise for him :)
On last saturday, I actually asked his sister for their house key so that I can go up his house & do some decoration to his room. And becoz this is supposed to be a surprise, therefore this mission has to be done very secretly. I have to inform Est, Connie, Mark (who are the accomplices) & Dave's sisters (who are the spies). The most difficult part of this mission is to tell a white lie & get him back to his house rather than going to mine which he always did every saturday night :x I have to lie to Dave that I'm going yoga with Est and after that will be going shopping with her and won't be home that early. Sound like an easy task right? In actual fact, it is not, especially when I have to take care of my puppy-Tobby & having Dave to call me so frequently. (-_-!!)
Firstly, I have to do some transformation to his room. So I actually went out to buy him a new set of bedsheet & curtain (which is not cheap becoz of their silky materials).
Secondly, I have to do some decoration to his dull & plain room. Nice??? It's not easy to paste all those stuffs alone k. I added some glowing stars so that it will bright up when the room is dark.
Lastly, how can we don't have a birthday cake? So I actually made a heart-shaped Oreo chocolate cheesecake with 2 chocolate coated strawberries for him =)
That's not all, I still have other thing for him which will be revealed at the later part.
So after doing all these, it's time to gather my spies, who will be informing me the exact location where Dave will be and help me to get back to his house instead of going mine. The whole process is full of excitement. The surprise nearly failed when Dave told his sister that he want to go & meet me at CCK (I actually lie to him that I'm sending Est back to her home at CCK). Luckily, I managed to bluff my way through & say I will meet him at his house instead. It's a good thing that Dave is very very tired that day thus he didn't find anything fishy :x
So when I know he is at his doorstep, I quickly close his room door, switch off the light, light up the candle & hide at one corner. From what I heard from Dave's sister, the first thing he did was to ask whether I have reach his house. And when his sister told him that I have not reached yet, he looked super pissed off :p So he kept calling my hp, which I have already switched it to silent mode :x And when the moment he opened his door, he was totally SHOCKED! He was stunt for few seconds & his mind went blank. Then he quickly look around searching for me before I jumped out & said "SURPRISE!!!" And all of us including his siblings and Jidi sang him a birthday song :) Can see that he is really very touched that night.
See what's he is holding? Yup... a 3D birthday card & the photo album that I have prepared for days. Inside contained all of our travelling photos (Hongkong & Japan).
I'm so glad that this surprise is a great success! Not to forget to thank my accomplices & spies, without your helps, I don't think it can work out so well :)
The next day (sunday), we were having a bbq session at East Coast Park. Thank you, Mark for helping us to book the pit ;) I brought my 2 sisters to attend this bbq party since they are bored at home. Have a lot of fun that night especially when we are making fun of someone :x
Reached East Coast Park too early, so we decided to set up the tent first. Haha.. Mark look like a garbage uncle :x
