Just received a very sad & shocking news from my sis, XY... A Hong Kong friend (who is about my age) of ours passed away few days ago :( We know that she has been battling with her illness (gastric cancer) for almost 2 years but all along we thought she has been coping well with it after her major operation but who knows in the end god still decided to take her away...
Although she is not really a very close friend of mine. But I will still try to meet her for a simple lunch during my 2 visits to HK. My sister will always remember to get her her favourite durian mooncake from Singapore. Even when my sister not going, she will still ask me to pass the mooncakes to her personally. I will never forget her hospitality when I visited HK. She will always make an effort & bring us around for at least 1 or 2 days...
Still remember, the last time round when we went HK which is about 3 or 4 years ago she even brought us (Val, Mark & Dave) to her University and tour around in her school & even brought us for dim sum & dinner at some neighbourhood area.
Even though she is just an acquaintance of mine, but afterall I still consider her as my friend. And the feeling of losing a friend is really sad.
Life is short, ones must really cherish the time around you.
Rest In Peace, Esther... You will always be remembered.
