Opps.. I know I'm very very late for this new year greeting, but better than nothing right?
Ok, I have finally managed to squeeze some of my precious time to edit my taiwan pics.
Day 1 (22/12/06)
Met the gangs at 11am sharp @ Changi Terminal 1 for check in. All of us are punctual except for Dave who was absent on that day due to the major flood in Johor. All of us are more concerned about his situation at Johor during that moment of time.

Making my final call to Dave before leaving Singapore.

See our tired-looking eyes... It was only 5.30pm but the sky has already turned very dark.

Our First Stop for the Night - Shilin Night Market!

Introducing the famous food stalls in Shilin!

Day 2 (23/12/06) - Happy Birthday to Val!
Woke up quite early to prepare ourselves & tour around the places of interest in Taipei.
Our first stop of the day is CKS Memorial Hall to witness the statue of Chiang Kai Shek and the changing shift parade that lasted for abt 20 mins.
Next stop is at the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall. Only spent about less than an hour in that area before we headed to their largest Eliste Bookstore @ Xinyi Shopping District. We also went to Jolin's Nails shop to take a pic of the storefront :x
After our lunch, we then went to "Wu Fen Pu" which is a fashion wholesale area, where we can find a lot of cheap clothes, accessories & bags if we buy in bulk. After 2-1/2 hrs of shopping, we then made our way to their well-known "Xi Men Ding".
Lastly, we ended our day in Holiday KTV to celebrate my sis, Val's 17th Birthday till 1am.
Day 3 (24/12/06) - Christmas Eve!
A long day is spent on travelling on day 3, however we realized there is actually other ways to minimize the time spent at the end of the day (-_-!!!) But is ok, we can still explore the rural side of Taipei area.
Went to their hotspring museum at Xin Bei Tou before we go for a wonderful hotspring experience at nearby Asia Pacific Resorts.
Next stop is to Dan Shui but din managed to go to the Fisherman Wharf & Lover bridge due to the lack to time. So we head straight to Kee Lung instead. And it took us 2 hours plus of public bus ride!!! After dinner at Kee Lung Night Market, we then took another 45min bus ride to "Jiu Fen", where they sell a lot of local delicacies & souvenirs. However most of the shops were closed when we reached there :( Finally, we took a fast train back from Ruifang station to Taipei and it only took us half an hour to reach Taipei. We should have take a train in the first place.
Spent our countdown in the hotel room playing poker cards. Haha...And the winner goes to Jeff while the loser is our banker, Mark :p
Day 4 (25/12/06) - Merry Christmas!
Spent our whole day in Lee Foo Village before we went to Shi Da Night Market to meet up Dave's cousin, Jia hao for Dinne. After dinner we then speed to Shilin Night Market to do our last minutes shopping!!!
Went back to the hotel straight away after 2 hours of shopping and here's the amount we have bought throughout our Taipei Trip. It's scary. We actually bought 5 pairs of boots over there becoz it is really cheap!

Day 5 (26/12/06)
Our last day in Taipei. Walk around in Taipei underground shopping mall near our hotel. After which, my sis & I took a train down to Xi Men Ding again to do our last minutes shopping.

After shopping for awhile, we then went back to Taipei station again to look for them and we saw Mark was playing UFO Machine from far and something happens.
He caught a watch but the machine seems to be stucked and it can't release the box. So our dear Mark was pissed & he hit the glass door. And to our amaze, the glass door opened!! Although he has a great chance of taking as many watches as he wants, but his conscience told him to inform the person-in-charge about it. And of coz, his good deed is rewarded. The person-in-charge gave him 2 watches in the end for informing them about the faulty. Not only that, the girl even gave him an extra small teddy bear from other machines too!

Aren't they cute?

Overall, I feel that Taipei is really a good place to go. How I wish I can go there again :)

But before I finished this blog, I need to make a special thanks to Dave's cousin, Jiahao for being our very wonderful tour guide in Taiwan. He helped us a lot from the day we touched down in Taipei till we left the country. Will pay this future "movie director" a visit again when Dave & I go Taipei next time!
