Our 1st Prenatal Class

Yesterday, Hubby & I attended our first lesson of Prenatal Class at AMK Hub!

First lesson was indeed fun & we learnt some antenatal exercise that help to ease the backache & correct our posture.  We also taught on some breathing technique that will help to strengthen the abdominal muscle which will aid in giving birth later on.  There are also some myth & traditions that are explained by Mrs Wong, our teacher for the whole course.

For those who actually intend to give birth at Thomson Medical Centre, I will definitely recommend you to attend the lessons conducted by Mrs Wong Boh Bai, who is a Senior Parentcraft Manager & has written 3 books on Childbirth, Breastfeeding & Childcare.

Anyway, seems like Mrs Wong is quite modern in thinking despite of her age and she actually told us to go for hot shower after giving birth & even instructed us to wash our hair on our 3rd day of labour!  Thank god! I can wash my hair on the 3rd day onwards, cause I serioulsy don't like the idea of pouring lots of powder all over my hair & body.  Mrs Wong also explained that powder bathing actually will clog the pores in the scalp which will eventually lead to HAIRLOSS after one month! That's freaking scary!

She also says it's fine to sleep in aircon room & even with fan on, but have to make sure the fan is not blowing directly at you!

I also learnt that it's not good to always rub ur tummy in circular motion as this will actually lead to premature labour!  Imagined that I have been applying my stretchmark cream in this kind of motion for the past 6 months!  After learning this, I immediately adopt the correct way of application!

We were also taught how to communicate with our bb inside my womb through some massaging techniques :)

Anyway, I will definitely encourage all the new mum-to-be to attend this kind of prenatal class with your hubby.  Haha.. me & hubby really learnt alot & we even practice the exercises when we got back home last night! :x On the other hand, I think it helps in bonding us with our bb too :)

Can't wait for our 2nd lesson this coming thursday!
